My package finally came today! Accepted to PPL Scholars which I’m actually really surprised about. I was not expecting to get in that program
Hi everyone, I’m getting anxious because I wasn’t able to make a portal…does this mean I am rejected? My stats were at their 50% with anazing ECs and essays. Would appreciate any feedback! I’m in NorCal and haven’t received my letter yet.
Waitlisted. 1450 SAT, 3.89 GPA, Sports, two honor societies - President of one, work, 1000’s of volunteer and leadership hours. 4 AP classes, strong essays. Thankfully lots of other choices with significant merit scholarships. Good luck everyone!
In MA and have not received any letter or package. Did AU mail packages to accepted students and email the others?
I just found out that I was waitlisted. I know that for some, this would be bad news. However, I am ecstatic about this because I really thought that I would be rejected. 3.8 GPA lots of work and community service. worked with numerous charitable organizations. applied test-optional. I love American and even if I’m not eventually offered admission, this is still positive.

@student12322 Were you able to make an account previously? My son is trying to hold out hope since he hasn’t received anything. But he can’t make an account so we’re assuming the worst

Still nothing in Missouri. I wish they weren’t sent out in groups, because everyday has been anxious.
My DD still hasn’t received anything (including today’s mail), but was able to make an account and see the “congratulations” letter (showing fall term 2018) and a scholarship award (although smaller than we were hoping for!). I just can’t figure out why the package wouldn’t be here yet. At this point, I’m not assuming anything even though we’ve seen the presumed acceptance through the portal. This is the last school she’s waiting on (and one of her favorites), so I just wish we’d get something official soon - one way or the other. She’d like to know all of her options so that she can start making a decision! 
That’s great to know! @student12322 I haven’t been able to make an account but the mail comes later today so I’m no longer expecting the worst. My friend across town though got their packet two days ago, is that a bad sign that I haven’t gotten anything when we live in the same city???

I’m thinking that they sent out admissions packets first then waitlist offers then rejections based off of what I have heard from others. I have two friends who live really close to me and we all applied to AU. One of them got their acceptance packet a couple days ago, I got my waitlist offer today, and the other has yet to hear.
They should have the decency to reject people and let them know… I hate being left in the dark

I was accepted today! Really, I was not expecting this to happen. And I’m sure you’ll understand after seeing my stats:
Major: Polticial Science
GPA: 3.3
SAT: Opted Out
APs: Five courses, AP Human Geography, AP Government, AP American History, AP World History, AP Psychology (I recieved 5s on each test).
Community Service: Junior Coach for Girls on the Run, Tutor at High School (for English), Tutor at Elementary School (for Reading), volunteer at local food pantry
Clubs and Activities: Co-captain of Debate, Vice-President of Model UN, FBLA, Interlochen Arts Academy Summer institute student
Awards: 3 Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards, National Writers of the Future Award, Bar Association Creative Law Day Award, Undefeated Debate record, Best Delegate Model UN and regional FBLA winner.
Recommendations: Both were amazing, one from my debate and model un coach and the other from my AP Government Teacher
Essays: I suppose they were good but probably nothing phenomenal due to the amount of time I spent on it.
I recieved a large financial aid package, however, I recieved more money from other colleges in scholarships. It really comes down to money for me since I come from a middle class family.
