Au rd 2022

DD finally got her package today … she was accepted into SIS and the AU Scholars program! Unfortunately, her excitement was short-lived when we realized that her merit scholarship isn’t enough to make AU financially feasible, especially with bigger scholarships at other schools. It was definitely a happy … and sad … day for her. :frowning:

@NJmom8 I don’t think she has to worry about accepted students day yet. I am from PA but I was also invited to the NJ admitted students day which is on April 15th. The only thing you may want to think about, is that priority housing payments are due very soon. I may be wrong (please correct me if I am) but I believe there are some things that are due this Friday.

From past years decision threads, the mentorship program is almost exclusively for applicants AU determines to be full pay meaning hope for aid is nill

Anyone else having problems trying to create login for myau portal. Got my acceptance today and I’ve tried to create it but it just keeps saying that there is something wrong with the information and to double check to see if I entered everything correctly. Have done this and tried multiple times but it hasn’t worked yet. Anyone else run into this problem?

Haven’t gotten any mail yet, but I got an email invitation to the accepted student day! I was too scared to do the portal loophole but I wish I did earlier. Also got an email that I was accepted to school of public affairs. I also auditioned for music school but I think my results for this come out a little later. My stats are 3.95 UW 5.2 W 1380 SAT, lots of band and piano, three honors societies, XC. The financial aid situation might not work out for me though… congrats to everyone else who got in!!!

@viclaveder I saw earlier in the thread that the portal worked if you used birth date instead of SSN. Worked for me.

Accepted into the mentorship program. Kind of surprised because very few kids from my school got in. Spoke to an admissions rep today and they said that all mentorship program students are not reconsidered for merit-based aid if they did not receive it in their admissions packet.

Nothing was in mine so I’m assuming I received none (4.0 unweighted GPA, 31 on ACT and 1460 on SAT, lots of ECs) but I did receive some need-based aid, but still not enough to attend. Congrats to everyone attending!

I couldn’t create/log into the myAU portal either! I tried for over an hour to get it to work, but it kept telling me there was “something wrong.” I tried calling, but the help desk closes after 8, and I couldn’t reach anyone. Any idea what it could be?

Help. We cannot find an acceptance on the portal and we still do not have an envelope. However, my DD received an email congratulating her on her acceptance to AU and inviting her to an event. Did anyone else get this invite via email today? Did anyone accidentally get the invite but knows they are not admitted? My DD is worried this is a mistake since she cannot confirm her admittance.

When is the freshman day for AU? April 20th?

Have any other international applicants not heard anything? I haven’t received mail or an email regarding my decision and there’s nothing on my portal either… I also emailed American a few days ago asking about this but they haven’t responded. Anyone else experiencing this?

Very disappointed in AU. Still nothing for my daughter. How do they release decisions like this? They were quick enough to take the application fee.

@Mom1997 nothing here either and we are local to AU. We know she was accepted, but never got anything in the mail.

I’m on vacation so I don’t know if I received anything. My portal still says that regular decision notifications come out on April 1st so I’m a bit confused. I never got an email notifying me about an accepted students day so I’m assuming I didn’t get in.

DS got acceptance packet in mail today in MA. No email at all. Accepted into mentor ship program.

Hey guys!
I was accepted as a Spring Admit, or the “Mentorship Program”. I was wondering: is there any way to appeal this decision? I didn’t demonstrate pretty much any interest in AU before my admissions decision, but it is my top choice school. If I make that clear, and give a compelling reason as to why I would rather be a fall admit, do you think this is a reasonable appeal to make? Do you think it’s even a possibility?

@collegemom2000 so my D was just able to create a portal and view her financial aid award but still no letter saying she is admitted??? Crazy. Congrats to your daughter.

I applied for the honors college but it wasn’t mentioned at all in my acceptance package. I’m guessing I didn’t get in? I just find it weird that they didn’t even “regret to inform me” that I didn’t make it into the honors college or mentioned the fact that I applied at all. Does anyone know if the honors college decisions were released in the admissions packet?

@student3302, my son also applied for the honors college. There was no mention of it in his original acceptance, but he got an email today saying he was not selected for the honors college. He was accepted to a scholars program instead (CBRS, I think it is), so he would get $10k less annually than he would in honors.

I’m a US citizen living overseas and I still haven’t received anything, so I emailed Amercican but I haven’t recevied a response. I’m kind of disappointed in the lack of communication between applicants/parents/American. Hopefully I hear back soon, but I think it’s strange that they haven’t released all of their decisions. I’m having this problem with other colleges too… anyone else?
