I guess they have met thier quota. They went from offering virtual full ride, to a stipend of $1,000 or $2,000 per year.

Looks like Auburn is out for me.

This certainly changes the plans of many NHRP’s. Sorry to hear that Auburn dropped the scholarship. Like I mentioned before, with other schools dropping it too it makes littles sense to keep it.

^^^^Guess that depends on how they feel about under-representation of Hispanics at the university. Hopefully, they will find other ways to increase those numbers, e.g. targeting NM Hispanic students.

The $1000-2000 stipend is actually based on FAFSA-determined need. It is not guaranteed.

Well there you have it! From a virtual full ride down to zero in one year. So much for making plans a couple of years in advance.

They needed the money to pay their football coach an extra $1M+.
Once again the Hispanics became the sacrificial lamb just like Alabama did the previous year. The saddest thing is that this is happening or has happened in many other colleges too.

In reality I think that what you see is pure benchmarking. No others are doing it, why me? At the end it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Every college ends with about the same scholarships level once they reach their goals.
