Just popping in to wish all of your students good luck today. I hope everyone gets good news. My S17 is a proud Auburn alum. There seems to be some misinformation about Auburn scholarships being spread on this thread. The competitive merit scholarships do not require a separate application. They are based on standardized test scores and grades. Although these scholarships are not guaranteed, anecdotally they are essentially automatic for students accepted in the first rounds of early action who meet the listed criteria. In later rounds, students may be out of luck. My S17 was awarded his presidential scholarship with his acceptance. My S22 was awarded his presidential scholarship a few days after he received his acceptance. The other thing to be aware of - especially for engineering students - is that students need to maintain a 3.0 to keep their scholarships. GPA is evaluated at the end of each spring semester. A 2.99 does not round up to a 3.0 and once a student loses the scholarship there is no way to earn it back.
Departmental and smaller scholarships will stack with the other scholarships. After acceptance, students apply for these through AUSOM. You do not have to enroll or pay a deposit fee in order to apply and be considered for those scholarships. There will be a link in the accepted student portal. These scholarships tend to be small and a lot of them also require some financial need.
It is highly recommended to submit a housing deposit as soon as you can to ensure on campus housing for your student. This does not commit your student to enrolling, but you will not get your money back should your child decide to go elsewhere. Good luck yâall and War Eagle
Right? And I think someone on here said it would be coming out in waves even. I think an email was sent to some stating that it wouldnt come out for everyone all at one time.
Honestly I think the parents are more on pins and needles. My daughter is napping and going to the T Swift movie with friends tonight. And good for her. Nothing to worry about. Sheâs going to college somewhere! It will all work out for all of them.
Thatâs what was in the email we received. Round 1 is released mid to late October, and it would come out in waves to try to avoid technical issues. I have no idea how that lines up with how decisions were released last year. I tried to look back at the 2023 thread, and there were people posting results up to a week or so later, but they very well could have had their results and just waited to post or didnât even know the board existed until then. Personally, I hope we all get a nice surprise in the next 20 minutes or soâŠ
Quick disclaimer - the email came from the dual-enrollment advisory team to the seniors who are admitting through that program. So, donât worry that you missed an email that contained this information.
