TO - which after submitting learned that Auburn is NOT test optional they are test flexible (common app was not clear on this or we would have submitted SAT scores)

This is awful but since my kid is not on this board I can be honest- I’m a little relieved.
She has already been accepted at Alabama and Ole Miss we are Georgia residents and those are long drives for my kid who hates driving and prefers to be a passenger princess. She has also applied at Clemson (40 minutes from our house) and U of SC (2 and a half hours). They are much closer to home. Clemson is her first pick but definitely a reach but U of SC is a likely for her. Up until this point she would not even consider a Georgia school where she would basically go for free and they would just send her checks to live on each month. So this is actually making her have to consider Georgia schools.
If she is rejected or deferred at Clemson I will definitely be heart broken for her. Auburn is a great school but honestly it was not even added to her list until July. She has been dreaming of Clemson since she was 9 years old. So we are holding out hope for that.
I know a deferral is not a “no” but in our house it kinda is. - Love the school that loves you!
So happy for everyone that got their acceptance especially for those that this is their top school! Auburn is a fantastic school!
I understand your sentiments fully!
We also now more fully appreciate that not submitting test scores was a larger disadvantage than we had calculated.
This forum/thread was actually very helpful in educating us more fully on this fact. And in helping us understand the real dynamics at play…
All our best to you all and congrats again to everyone admitted!
We will be hoping for better news in March and wish everyone success going forward on their college processes…
Cheers!
