Same with my daughter, but nothing yet.
Got the email in the Auburn email account- clicked the link then went to Ausom icon on the top of the page and it was there!
My son also got the Presidential Scholarship, Itâs $17K for OOS and I just confirmed by phone. The âofficial signed letterâ says $17K and the scholarship online says $15K. AU knows about the problem.
Yep. just logged in AUAccess and then selected AUSOM icon at the top of the page. Presidential scholarship letter was there. Has anyone had any experience with or knowledge of departmental scholarships (engineering)? Would love some insight.
The PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP IS $15,000 TOTAL of $60,000 Four (4) Years. NOT $17,000.
A second Scholarship Official returned a call and an email, and confirmed ALL OOS Merit Scholarships will be reduced for FALL 2024 and went on to say the âwebsiteâ is only a guide and is contingent on available funding.
Iâm feeling the same especially since my son was accepted in the first round, but others recently accepted have already received their scholarships. My son has a 32 on the ACT so really hoping he gets a scholarship.
My son was accepted in the first round on October 13th and he has a 32 on the ACT and he has not received any scholarships. Iâm feeling very discouraged right now especially since we are OOS.
Even though the letter in AUSOM section of the portal says $17k? I havenât seen the email yet. Only what is in the portal.
My son did get the email, with the link in it to the award.
Havenât spoken to DS yet. So I have not seen any emails. I logged into the portal and under AUSOM was the scholarship letter with $17K a year.
Yup, the letter says $17 but itâs the $15K that is loaded under the âACCEPTâ Button that is the âofficialâ amount per the AU Scholarship rep.
Have you clicked the âacceptâ button? I havenât because I am worried it will process it, and we are still waiting on a few more schools before making a decision.
For the merit scholarships the âACCEPTâ button is non-binding like housing. It actually helps AU more than the student. You still have months to accept it.
Meaning it helps AU in their financial planning but for the student, they can hang onto the decision for months.
Hmm, even with this scholarship, Auburn was always going to be more expensive than some of the other offers. Although itâs âonlyâ $2K less a year, this does widen the gap, adding to COA.
Absolutely, considering we are FREE COA in Florida but without any âgoodâ mech engineering programs and Texas A&M is way more than AU COA.
If we still lived in Florida we would probably have selected UF. Texas A&M COA is more than Auburn?
ugh this is what I was afraid of. I thought my son would get $15K based on the chart, but obviously not.
We were automatic for the In-State Tuition Waiver at Texas A&M based on the National Merit Recognition Program. However, they just announced the ending of that scholarship yesterday. In-State Tuition Waiver is $18k per year. We are waiting on other internal scholarships, at A&M you need a minimum of $4000 per year internal scholarships to get the in-state tuition waiver.
did they give any indication how much the other categories would be reduced?
