My son has applied to four colleges so far, two of which have rolling admissions, and he heard from both of them within a week or so. I do not like the “decision day” release or whatever it is called. It’s very stressful. I’m not even sure if he was considered in this round since his transcript was sent electronically two days before the deadline but was pending in Auburn’s portal until 9/16. 
I know he shouldn’t have cut it so close, but I really hope we don’t have to wait until mid-Nov. to hear something. The final college he applied to doesn’t release decisions until December! He’s not too interested in that one so I’m not as stressed, but Auburn is his 1st choice.

Hey Jim! Wondering if you have any insight into decision date. I know you guys were talking with a recruiter and with your sons stats I have a feeling you would be one of the first to know!
S24 is very blasé about this whole thing. He feels like a deferral to decision later in the year is the most likely outcome so not stressing about it. I am a completely different story and am going to want to pounce on him to check his email and portal the second I hear decisions are out.
That’s correct and she “was under the impression” OOS high performers would have a decision already. My other son had already heard by now 2 years ago. So we are still waiting.

we set up all his college apps and common app with an email address that I also have access to! He agreed that he is too prone to not check his email and miss things!

Anxiously awaiting decisions for EA1 this week! My son’s VIT tour is scheduled for next Monday so hoping he will get good news making the visit extra exciting…

I thought I read somewhere in 2020 and 2021 the decisions were made on a Wednesday - why is everyone thinking Friday?

According to the 2023 Fall EA thread, decisions were released last year on Friday, October 14th late afternoon. People were posting decisions for a week or so after that release, so I’m not sure if it was because they were releasing round 1 over a series of days or people just waited to post.

I recall reading something about Wednesday postings, but it was something like the portal changed from awaiting decision to decision made or something similar, but the decision did not show up as accepted, rejected or deferred until that Friday late afternoon.

Seems a bit cruel to change to “decision made” then let you wait 48 hours!

We just got back from the VIT tour and it was great! They drove us around in a golf cart to all parts of the campus. We did a general tour first, then we went to the honors college, then to the business school, then lunch, then the recreational center. You will definitely enjoy it. My S24 has similar stats, so we are hoping for some good news tomorrow! Best of luck

What is the VIT tour? I imagine my son doesn’t qualify, or we would have heard about it. Maybe he has, but didn’t tell me! haha!
