I am a rising senior this year and am considering attending Auburn University in 2011 (Fall), but not sure what to major in. I have been looking at Wireless Engineering. I don't know whether to take the hardware or software designation. Has/Is anyone majored in this? If you have graduated what type of job have you acquired? Any and all advice/input is greatly appreciated.

Wireless Engineering would be more Electrical Engineering. Many people who go into this field end up working in Communication Systems design. To work in this field you will ned to know electromagnetic, signal processing and some circuit design. It is a very interesting field and you probably would like it. All of this is on the hardware side.

If you like the software side you can go into cloud computing and learn how to design that type of stuff. I’m not a CS major so i dont really know what all you need to know but this is my best guess.

I’m a senior in Electrical Engineering if you have any more questions. Hope that helped a little.

Thanks marchballer, another question, did you have a lot of experience in Electrical Engineering before choosing the major? Or did most of what you know come through the class?
