auburn v.s. clemson? pros and cons!

im currently choosing between my two top choices, auburn and clemson! please give me some advice and opions and some pros and cons of each if you can! (im going to major in biology/pre-vet if that makes a difference) i live in ga so they are both out of state and expensive but i do have gcsu as my back up but i really hope finaid comes through so i can go to one of my top choices!! thanks in advance =]

I've heard that they are sister schools. Is this true?

Either way, both have a fantastic reputation.

Both are very good schools, and are focused on more technical aspects like engineering and architecture. Both also have great football. They are extremelly similar in many ways, although Clemson has a little better national reputation.

yeah thats what ive heard! this is so tough because they are very similar but clemson has a little bit better of an academic rep. but auburn is a little cheaper.. soooooo ahh this is so tough! i love them bothhh but i am going to let the campus visits and the finaid awards make the decision.. i was jw if anyone knew pro cons in regards to my major, housing, student life, academic rep., greek life.. etc!

I can't speak for Auburn but as for Clemson, I think it has a "reputation" because it's football team plays on national television. A huge percentage of alumni donations to the school go directly to athletics. Like Auburn, it's a state college and not even the "flagship." Parts of the campus are beautiful but it's in a rural area (which can be good or bad, depending on what you want.) I think it also depends on what kind of student/person you are. The students we know who are the happiest at Clemson tend to be more conservative, more math-and-science oriented and love big time college sports. Also, you must love to wear the color orange.

I think they're very similar. Everything in post #5 can be said about Auburn, too (even the orange!)

Given that similarity, I'd prefer Clemson out of the two because the region is more scenic -- Appalachian foothills vs. flat plains.
