Maybe you have made your choice already, but Auburn is an excellent and cheerful place. I am a graduate of their engineering school (which is excellent). I never felt like it was a big school, although it definitely qualifies.

The students manage to be both very polite and unpretentious at the same time. A difficult combination to achieve.

Going with a sorority is a personal choice. Auburn has a significant sorority presence but more than half do not go sorority. Greeks do not dominate campus.

I went to grad school at Auburn an loved it! Faculty and staff are amazing! They will literally bend over backwards for you. Great community! Students were very down-to-earth and great role models from the business community. Auburn was an excellent decision for me (and I’m from Chicago). I’m an auburn tiger for life!

She has chosen Auburn. She ended up not even applying to Va Tech. She ended up feeling that USC was too urban for her taste, Clemson was a bit too rural, and she really felt comfortable and at home with the really friendly, family vibe at Auburn. We had her visit a school in the northeast in the heart of the snow and cold weather and it was all it took for her to realize the reality of of single digit temperatures and feet of snow is not as cozy and fun as she thought.
