So, I'm starting at Villanova this fall as a bio major freshman. I got a 5 on the AP biology exam, so I am technically exempt from general bio 1 and 2. My question is, should I take the courses anyway since I already know a lot about it, should I not take them at all, or should I audit them?! At Villanova when you audit a course, you sit in on the lectures but are not graded and do not receive credit. You don't have to go to the lab, and you dont have to take tests, although it is recommended. But I feel like if Im going to show up to class and do the work, should I just take the course and get a grade? HELP!

i definitely would not do that audit thing...either take the class or skip it, but dont go and not get graded haha

If you have the time to spare, it might be worth it to audit the bio classes, since they're necessary for your major it'll help you stay sharp.

My schedule basically looks like (as of now)

General Bio, Lab
General Chem, Lab
Augustinian Cultural Seminar (required)
Calc w/ Life Science Applications
Soph. Level Spanish

I would also really like to get involved in clubs!!! What makes the most sense for me to do?

Auditing will be a complete, utter waste of time. I agree with redwingshockey above, either take the class for a grade or don't take it at all.

I usually recommend taking general bio because it will go into much more depth and cover a wider range of topics than your AP course did. But if you feel your foundation in biology is strong, you could skip right ahead to a higher level bio class (genetics, or cell biology perhaps) and start with that.
