Audition BA Theatre Programs in CA, OR, WA

Interested in which BA theatre programs in CA, OR, WA require an audition. Already know of:

UCLA
Chapman
Loyola Marymount University

Are there any others? What are the strengths and weaknesses of these programs. Are there any non-audition programs in these states that are especially good?

LMU’s professors are great, in fact most of them are working actors in the biz which is awesome. My only qualm with it is that it seems to be pretty weighted toward film acting rather than stage. There are more courses on acrid for the camera than various stage techniques. If film is where your interest lies, then the program is great.

Chapman is more of a conservatory setting with their BFA program. It’s great if you want to dive head first into acting, but not so good if you’re interested in a liberal arts education.

UCLA is another really strong program with options in BA/BFA, but the school is huge! Most non theatre classes will be very large lecture based classes.

Whitman in Wa has a pretty good (and pretty small!) theatre program. Lewis and Clark in Portland has a good program with study abroad programs in New York and London’s west end which is cool! If you’re looking for a larger setting there’s USC as well. It’s very competitive, but is great once you’re in. Cal State Fulletton is tops when it comes to theatre in the cal sate system, but there’s a cut program which can be a bit of a turn off. I’m sure there are plenty other schools, these are just the few I’ve really looked into during my own research.
Hope that helps!
