Hi All, I know this is a really old thread, but I wanted to see if anyone from it was still on the forum. I am a faculty member who is part of a team proposing a new musical theatre BFA program at my university, and one of the justifications we will have to provide involves the number of applicants to BFA programs (and the numbers accepted). I find the list you’ve compiled here fascinating, but of course the numbers are eight years old, and I will have to be able to list a source in order to be able to use them. Would someone mind telling me where they got these numbers?
@shaxpur: The list was compiled from various posts here on CC, and the numbers in the posts were generally reported by parents with students in the programs or from presentations by the theatre departments at the schools. In a few cases, the numbers were reported by faculty members who participate on this forum.
Recent numbers from Texas State BFA MT:
2015: 14 (7 men, 7 women)
2016: 14 (6 men, 8 women)
Does anyone have any current numbers of how many auditioned and how many accepted? Also, do pre-screens go into the number auditioned?
