Audition Location

Is their any advantage to auditioning at the school itself or does it matter if I audition at the regional audition?

there is a thread about this...let me look and I will bump it for you. In general, I believe Dr John has reported a higher return on auditions from the non-campus auditions, but he attributes that to applicants being more in te know, than just kids who live locally and think, hey that would be a fun
thing to try.
The ones who attend regional auditions and Unified Auditions tend to be more serious applicants, to even know of the existance of these auditions.

Kissmekate89,

I asked this same question to the admissions offices of CCM and UMich. CCM says that there is no advantage to auditioning on campus, whereas UMich says that they would prefer that the applicant audition on campus, if possible, so that the applicant will have a chance to be evaluated by a greater number of faculty members.

My D has scheduled all of her auditions on campus not because it was believed to provide a competitive advantage but because it provides yet another opportunity to visit the campus, talk to students and get more of a feel for its atmosphere. I think it's important to remember that as much as a school may be evaluating you, you must also evaluate the school and determine whether it is a good match.
