Does anyone know what the procedure is for contacting potential faculty members you are interested in studying with? Are you supposed to contact your first choice, and wait for a response, or are you supposed to contact all those you would consider studying with? Thanks for any advice!

Pick one. The "shotgun" approach is not the way to go.

My D got her scholarship/financial aid offer today. It was a little disappointing, but she has not yet received the talent award. I was told we will know that by April 1.

We are keeping our fingers crossed. I was told that the talent award can be anywhere from $2,000 to $25,000! Gosh, I wonder how one gets the $25,000!

Music faculty scholarship award received today for ballet major! (and I am sure none of the girls get anywhere near that max amount....)

yea me too. Unlike vieuxtemps5 (who you now know is living with me), I don't think the level at Indiana is all that bad. Didn't really like the place at all and don't see myself living in THAT kind of midwest.

Has anyone heard anything from juilliard financial aid?

I'm surprised you heard from Juilliard already, Gil. Their office sent out an email saying no decisions would be sent till April. Did you hear directly from a department?

Teacher told me. I have no idea when letters come... they seem to have been comming at different types for people (different schools). However you can find out from the teacher sometimes, which has been the case at almost all of the schools I applied to. I have just been waiting to see if I can get a scholarship.

For undergrad, acceptance and financial aid/ scholarship info came in the same letter.

My son was told by a teacher that he would get into one school where he auditioned and he did not. Teachers are not completely reliable this way --- it can be wishful on their part.

That's very unpleasant. In my case I've been in contact with these teachers and I know what the result will be. It's been the case with everything so far, and I've never known any of my friends to get rejected when the teacher told them after their audition that they'll take them. At least not at a school like Juilliard where your audition is pretty much all that matters. I've heard about this being common at NEC, Juilliard, and MSM. I am not positive about the other places. At least with all schools I've gotten letters from, I knew beforehand, and in the ones where I haven't, I've been told a few times everything is ok.

I just got an acceptance phone call from Juilliard today for the BM voice program, and I was told financial aid would be sent out by next week.

Just curious if any admitted student has received any great scholarship money or talent award money yet. We are still waiting for the talent award. Scholarship money was so so.

No - haven't heard anything about $$ yet from IU. I think they said it would be sent out on April 1st.

Then we should get something this week...hopefully!

Should be really soon. Our singer got award notification by snail mail dated 3/22 last year. He was admitted early though (1/25) Good luck everyone!

Ballet dept scholarship received in the mail on 3/27. Not sure if that has any relationship to other departments, ballet being its own unique little world.

If anyone is waiting to hear about the Hutton Honors program scholarship they are in the mail and should be arriving today or tomorrow.

Hi all, my S has a trumpet audition scheduled for early March. We haven’t heard anything about the schedule yet. Can anyone help me with what to expect?

Bach36, for my daughter’s January audition, IU sent both print and PDF files of an audition week brochure, plus an email with her theory test time and her audition time. Everything went as outlined in the brochure-- except that her audition was 15 minute ahead of schedule! A few of her friends also auditioned and their auditions were early, as well. Good luck to your son!

Thank you!
