My S told me yesterday that a close friend of his is doing her Tisch audition via Skype. Now I know that monologue coaching can occur over Skype, and I also know that Tisch does accept DVD submissions for auditions. But this is the first I've heard of an audition being done live, on-line, over the internet via Skype. Technology is changing the way we do things - - but has anyone else out in CC land heard of doing college auditions this way?

No, I haven’t and I would be very surprised if this is true for the audition. From my understanding, the Skype portion is solely for the interview portion of the artistic review and only for those who have already submitted a dvd audition which has followed the department’s instructions for same.

Only the interview happens via Skype. The audition needs to be e-mailed to Tisch (the instructions will be up when you schedule your artistic review) and mailed (DVD) both.

alwaysamom, mukula … thanks for your clarification. I, too, doubted the fact that the “audition” would be done via Skype, but the “interview” following the DVD submission makes sense. Something must have been lost in translation between my S, his friend, and myself.
