2. if i get everything in by like beginning of september/october, will I get an eariler audition date? like in november/december?
    thanks!

singactglass - when you complete your online application (very short) you will be asked for a first & second preference for a audition date. My D completed her application on September 4, as soon as it became available. She had worked on most of her applications (esp. essays) over the summer working of old application samples, and chose to get all this out of the way. She opted to select the very first audition date, because it worked best for her schedule.

During the info session at her audition, we were told that audition slots are allotted in the order received. She apparently was the first girl that completed her application, as she was the first girl to audition last season :D.

In hindsight, especially if you are a girl (I realize you are not :D, but for others who read this), and if CCM is your first choice, - I strongly advise against auditioning the first audition date. People who audition on this date will ALL get a yes or no letter within 2 weeks, BUT no one gets deferred, contrary to later audition dates, where you may hear nothing, indicating you are still "under consideration". From comparing notes from the past few years, it appears that CCM sends offers to more boys than girls early on, and so this can easily be the other way around for boys, in other words, audition early as the competition may get fiercer as times goes on.

If CCM is your first choice (do your research :)), all this could be important if you are someone who is "on the bubble" and the adjudicators need to see more people in order to determine how you stack up against others during a particular audition season.

However in all fairness, CCM also knows really well what they are looking for and obviously have a lot of experience sifting through applicants, and so in the end, none of this may matter ;).

My son submitted his application on Sept 15th last year. Dec. 1 was his audition preference because they do let you know so guickly. He auditioned at 2:35. It seemed to be the perfect time. Not to early in the morning and far enough from lunch to have that not be a factor. He received his acceptance email the following Tues. One thing that was different about the UC application is that you couldn't save it. You had to complete it in one sitting. So plan enough time.

Hello. Does anyone know the timeframes for CCM auditions at the end of January in NYC? We're trying to get a fix on whether or not we can get 2 schools in on 1/30 or 2/1. Morning and afternoon start times? About how long they last?

Admissions didn't have a clear answer until we get the application in...which will take a little while.

I am not sure what you mean by "admissions didn't have a clear answer until we get the application in..." Did they indicate to you that they'd have more info once you applied? My D's application went in on September 13. She checked off her first choice for audition dates and we are waiting to hear a confirmation. We feel pretty confident she will get the date since her app was sent so early, but she, too is concerned about fitting in 2 schools. She has been confirmed for that date for Webster U which we understand is only 30 minutes so she is hoping that when she hears from CCM she can call Webster and request a time that works.
I guess it's all a puzzle that you just hope fits.
