I think I asked this before but now cannot remember…when D is applying to schools (she is just going to be a junior this fall so I am planning early!) will she most likely be sending in pre-screens and/or auditioning before applying academically to the schools? It seems like you would have to do both I guess?? Wow what a mess of paperwork…
Depends on the school. Some require pre screens. Most require application to the university prior to audition. Research each school & make a chart/spreadsheet. PM me & I’ll send you mine. 
Many parents find that they are the paper/schedule/deadline managers while the student focuses on preparing for auditions, filling out apps and writing essays. No matter who does it, the “managing” is a part time job.
Anyone know dates for Chicago Unifieds 2016?
Unifieds dates aren’t published yet, but Chicago is mostly likely Feb 1-3. The non-member schools usually hold auditions the Saturday and Sunday before–Jan 30 and 31 for 2016).
Really need to know the exact Chicago Unifieds dates for 2016. Have received some conflicting info about whether it is Feb 1-3 or the next weekend…
Will that be official before August? It seems to me in past years that is when lots of “dates” (audition weekends, application deadlines etc) get posted.
Call the Palmer House hotel in Chicago. They should know the dates already. And allow for two days on either end for weather and schools holding auditions outside of Unifieds.
