August 2017 Geometry Common Core Regents

A 2D shape, which is a rectangle, rotated can form a cylinder. And besides, a cylinder has no cross section of a triangle. In a rectangle, if you cut it diagonally, it will have a cross section of a triangle.

But everything on that test was so simple. Better than the June 2017 regents. I just hated that last 6 point question. I was able to get the depth of the pool though.

What did u guys put for the question that said what would be the values to make this triangle a right triangle?? There was a big triangle and than 2 more inside… It gave u the side measurements like for LM

For the 6 point proof how do u prove the hypotenuse of the 2 right triangles are congruent??? In other words how do u prove that it’s those 2 sides of the trapezoid are congruent and not the top and bottom??

For the proof i said the non parallel sides of an isoceles trapezoid are congruent is that a good reason??

You were suppose to prove that two triangles were congruent, and one of them were isosceles. And Idk how you got that to be one of your reasons. But don’t worry, proofs can be quite challenging. So I don’t blame you.

And the question for the right triangle. I have no idea what I put. I think I put either 2 or 3, but I don’t remember any of the choices. But I do know that it was not 4.

For the right triangles when the altitude is dropped it splits the base and there are two bases. You multiply the lengths of the base and take the square root of it. That is what the altitude should equal if it’s a right triangle

Regarding the proof, saying that non parallel sides are congruent should be sufficient (I said that too) and to prove that the hypotenuse are congruent you just have to prove that there is a right angle therefore it’s a right triangle and then it’s obvious that the hypotenuse are congruent

I think I rememered saying something about non parallel sides. Either way, I passed the June regents, I just wanted to retake the geometry regents again to see if I can get a better score.
