AUSOM Total Scholarship Offers

Does anyone know when all the offers will be mailed out? Son received notification of Presidential but I know they push the applicants through the departmental scholarships as well. Just wondering when we will get a good bottom line?

Same situation here. We were there last week for E day and I was told departmental scholarships would be awarded on April 2nd.

Thank you!

My D will apply to Auburn next year - it is her first choice. 3.9 GPA, 33 ACT (34 superscore), APs, etc. Biology/Pre Physical Therapy major. Do you have any idea if she needs a 34 composite score to get the Presidential scholarship? We are in Georgia, and it’s hard to turn down the Zell Miller scholarship at UGA which brings total cost per year to ~ $12k. Auburn with the Presidential is feasible but we’re trying to figure out what it really takes to get it, and if a higher ACT score could get her even more $ beyond the Presidential. Any thoughts?

Looking at the Freshman scholarships on their webpage it says 33-36 ACT, I would think you’d be good but you can call the office and ask. It is hard to turn down free tuition but once she’s at Auburn, she will be glad she made that decision…surrounded by some of the nicest kids. War Eagle!

My D got Presidential with a 34 ACT, but as threeofthree said, it does say 33-36 on the website. If she makes National Merit it would be more - $88,000 total OOS vs. $72,000 total for Presidential, plus a year of housing. Unfortunately my D just missed that! I feel your pain - we are from Tennessee and she could go to UT for practically nothing, but she loves Auburn (as do we - husband and I are alums!). War Eagle!

Thanks for the reply HandLMum. Do you have any idea if they offer additional merit aid beyond what is shown on the website? We’re in same boat as you - she’ll just miss National Merit … and we’re comparing to super low cost at UGA. We’ll talk to our college counselor in the fall - I was just curious what actual families have experienced recently.

@Atlanta68 we took our daughter, who is a junior, to Auburn yesterday for the tour. We actually spoke with a advisor in the scholarship department and she said outside of the three big scholarships that they offer, The only other scholarships would be departmental scholarships which are usually $1000 - $2000. We are in a similar situation as you living in Georgia, we would save about $10,000 sending our daughter to in-state school. But as alumni, we love Auburn.

And this information may have already been posted, but starting this fall, the deadline for scholarship applications will be moved to December 1. Kind of a big deal considering fall semester grades will not be taken into account for scholarships. Seems like it would have made more sense to move the deadline to January 1, but they didn’t ask me.

@atlgal2016, the above post was for you. I tagged the wrong person.
