I'm a first year student at university in sydney. Next year i want to do a semester exchange in the states. All that i need to know before I apply is which college i want to apply for. While i'm in the US, my subjects are only graded as pass/fail, rather than credit, distinction etc, meaning its easy to pass.

Now I'll be honest, the prestige of the uni doesnt really matter to me. I want to do this because i've always wanted to have the "american college experience", maybe ive been watching too many movies. I want a place that knows how to party, and isnt boring as hell. I know to americans this might give the image im a slacker, but believe me australian employers wont know/care about what college i went to while in the US for six months. I'm already looking at a gpa over 3.5 so im not in danger of getting bad marks or anything.

This is the list of partner unis i can choose from

Arizona State University **- Tempe
**Butler University - Indianapolis, Indiana

I'm doing psych, so barely any (if any) colleges are restricted to me. I've ruled out two unis so far. Old dominion university, since i heard its mostly a commuter school, and id prefer if it was dorm/live in (all unis in australia are commuter, and believe me it is boring as hell).

I know that states in the US differ way more than they do in Aus (each state over here is pretty much the same, apparently theres huge differences in culture between states in the USA) so obviously my choice of college isnt going to be easy.

For the most part ive narrowed it down to ASU, MSU, SDSU and Ole Miss. These colleges seem to have the atmosphere im looking for, based on what ive heard.

If any of you guys go to any of these colleges or know people who go to these colleges, tell me what they're like! Also if you have any advice about going to college in the states i'd like to hear it.
