I got waitlisted at UPenn with 98.9. Hope that helps? =/

but about those who apply Early decision?
They haven’t known UAI yet?

Well, if you apply RD, you’ll have your UAI in time.

For ED, I think what they told me to do was use the online UAI calculator. Calculate your expected UAI, sign a Statement of Declaration (Get it from the post offices and signed by a JP) that says xx.xx is my UAI based on 2008’s results.

Or something like that. Best if you checked with the school itself though.

Well, cuz the deadline for ED is usually 1st Nov
HSC is still going so I’m planning to submit way before Nov, better to settle it on October…
Can I sumbit the HSC result later then?

you submit your hsc results as the financial report, so after mid december after you get your official report n stuff.

You also get your school to submit what they calculate as your estimated UAI cause they have fancy programs that do it…

Oh yeah and rejected from Brown and Columbia with a 98.05 UAI

Ok, final decisions -

Yeah, minichellom, remember that yr11 grades definitely do count, if i can offer any good advice for aussies applyin to the US, its to keep your grades as high as possible from yr9-12, not just yr12

Stik
how did u cope with EC’s and SAT?
Any advice for that?

lol Sitk I have to disagree my grades SUCKED in years 9 and 10 except for a random 100 in maths first semester year 10 and I still got into some pretty darn good schools. They really care about an upward trend so if your year 9/10 grades aren’t that great then dont worry too much. Come to think of it my year 11 and 12 grades were not that great either. How the hell did I get into college? How ever I did it I don’t care I am just greatful.
Then again I didn’t get into any ivies

Beeish, don’t lose too much sleep over the rejection from brown and columbia
I guess u applied for Financial Aid right?
These two schools are historically aid-sensitive with international students…so…no worries1

Guess I’ll post this here for the other aussie applicants in later years =D

UAI: 98.7
SAT: 750M, 700CR, 660W (2110 Single seating)
ACT: 36S, 35M, 34R, 34E - 35Composite (My english sucks? @_@)
SAT 2: 800 Math IIC, 800 Physics, 760 Chemistry

I’ll update my accepted/rejected profile after I sort out my waitlists and stuff. =D

Oops, edit now that I’ve properly read the question: I did my SAT/ACT in October, and SAT 2 in December just after Year 12 exams. You might want to do it a little earlier though. Especially if you intend to take resits.

P.s. I strongly suggest taking the ACT. It is much more practical and requires less “SAT knowledge” as in. You can walk in there without ever opening an ACT book cough and still walk out with pretty good marks. The SAT on the other hand…

lol i didnt even know you could do ACT in australia
and my sat schedule was exactly same as u shoyz so i prob sat in the same room with you for the sat 2 in december and sat in october! lol i dunno if u can remember but i was the one that walked in late for sat 2

anyway id get over the sats early so u can concentrate on year 12. it was hard having to study completely differnet subjects (i.e. sat and school work)

and huanbing - beeish is an american citizen so she wouldnt have been considered as a total international.
