im going a week early to stay in NY with family first then bus it up

feels left out and small *

I guess the Aussies have united against the outsider. Very well.

nooo TheGame don’t feel left out… technically Dragons isn’t aussie either… and I am only half aussie so your not really an outsider!
and Dragons, I guess its just that awesome 7th sense!

yea but hes not from sydney so hes definitely an outsider lol

BUUUUUUT there are other people not from Sydney either…

haha
Multicultural hodgepodge

Thanks for the info about SAT. I guess it’ll become like a 7th subject once i start studying for it lol. arghh. I realise there are books for them but they don’t sell it in aus or are ridiculously expensive. That’s probably the price you have to pay though…

auskor_crimson: i’m on the southside. i did accounting in term 1 this year but dropped it for bio this term because i found it tediously boring (lol), only to find everything we do in bio this term is summative. arghh lol.

@Ruby: yr11 bio is summative!!! :open_mouth: I’m surprised! cos in my school all science subjects are only summative from term 1 of Yr 12. Though the panels sometimes look at Yr 11 term 4 marks. And yes, accounting is extremely tedious… but its one of those subjects where you dont really have to study for and still get perfect scores  and my parents coerced me to do it so yeah… (yep my parents are asians :P) you totally should do math c… its so much fun and you get to earn 2 bonus ranks (equivalent to 1 OP)

Wow, I’m surprised too. It should be the same across all states, don’t know why there’s summative assessments in year 11 bio. -_- Not great news for me coz i have to catch up with term 1 work i missed.

Hi everyone!
I haven’t posted on this thread for a while but I want to now in order to share some good news.
I was accepted in Dartmouth as a transfer student yesterday. I am currently studying a combined law degree at a university in Sydney.
I just wanted to say that I am more than happy to help people with advice about being a transfer, Dartmouth or college admissions generally. I don’t want to post my stats but for what it’s worth, my SATs were NOT amazing. In fact, I was worried I wouldn’t get admitted because I had a 590 on Math. As long as the rest of your application is very strong, then SATs are really of little consequence. If you really want to know more about stats etc, just PM me.
My advice is: work really hard (not just in year 12 but as a matter of principle). Good marks, ECs and other academic achievements, as well as commitment and passion are more important that an 2400 on the SAT.
:)

haha congrats claire!
so are you a Dartmouth 2013?

Hi St George
I am not sure exactly whether I’ll be a 2012 or 2013er - it depends on how much credit Dartmouth gives me for the classes I have already taken at university. I think I’ll be a 2012er though.
Yay!

Claire//huge cong!! i’ve PM u

haha nicee did u graduate last year and started uni at syd this year? or the year before?

Thanks for the congratulations guys!
I actually graduated in 2006. I am a bit of a slow starter. I did a gap year in 2007 and then started uni in March last year. I will have done 1.5 years of university before starting at Dartmouth.
Being a transfer student is going to be interesting. I would really encourage those thinking of applying to do so. It’s a ton of work but entirely worth it! Any questions about transferring, ask me!

thats mad as. we’re in the same side of america so keep in touch lol

leaving me all alone on the west coast! but thats okay because the west coast is just that awesome!

…so USC has only one Ozy acceptance? Amazingg

Lol I reckon most uni’s in America has very few aussies…

Claire, wow, congrats on Dartmouth!!! That’s amazing. Keep us updated on how it goes.
