Austin UT

My GPA is 3.1 (currently taking two AP classes) my rank is top half.

I know is extremely hard to enter to UT, but i want to get in no matter what. Im Mexican and before i though that colleges were not for me, even though i wanted to attend one, because i though of colleges that only smart people with money entered. But recently i was thinking that i will try everything that i can to enter to a good college, since my parents worked so hard for me i just want to return them the favor.
i feel like im a step back than “born and raised” Americans because my English is still not my strong suit (im good at writing but not reading/comprehension) and math is hard for me. For this past week i have been pushing myself to study for the SAT (i study from 10am to 10pm) but i still feel is not enough. Getting into colleges here is way harder than getting to colleges in Mexico. I dont know anything about how to apply to college works here so an advice is greatly appreciated.

I know that, the way im right now i wont be admitted to UT. Advice on what can i do for now to do better and tips? What are other schools i can apply to raise my GPA and rank (and tips to do better in SAT) so i can enter to UT someday??

You can try applying to another University of Texas location like UT San Antonio or UT Tyler and then transfer to UT Austin after your first or second year. University of Houston is good too and will give you a nice scholarship if you score well on the SAT. And I think that if you attend Austin Community College for two years, you’re allowed to transfer to UT Austin afterward; you might want to look into that, too. For now, focus on getting good grades and test scores, and work hard on your college essays. Good luck!

first off are you in state second off aim a little lower third off what grade are you in. For ut austin you need top 10 percent class rank with a 4.2 plus GPA and a 2000 plus SAT, if you can get up to a 3.4 and get a 2k on the SAT u may have a CHANCE at texas A and m

Im in Tx, and this is the thing, people say u need ur GPA to be 3.5+ and ur SAT to at least 1600+.

Whats the difference between college and community? And thanks, im staying up all nigh to study and raise my grades lol
