Auto Admits?

Does automatic admission [1300sats, top quarter] apply to OOS students?

No, you have to be a texas resident.

The [Getting In](http://admissions.tamu.edu/freshmen/getting_in.aspx) page of the TAMU Admissions department says you have to be a Texas resident to qualify for the Top 10% automatic admit, but it does not say you have to be a Texas Resident to qualify for the Top Quarter + 1300 automatic admit. You might want to contact the admissions department about that or post in the Academics forum on TexAggs.com where a couple of Aggie admissions counselors help out.

wepprop, go to [Admissions Definitions](http://admissions.tamu.edu/Counselors/definitions.aspx) and it’ll say:

Thus, only in-state residents are applicable.

You are probably correct but given how obscure that footnote is, I personally would call and ask if the answer was important to me.

Top 10% doesn’t apply to OOS.

Academic admit does apply to OOS. (1300, top 25%)

Z4CHH is correct. When we went to the admissions office a year ago, they told us a 1300 on the SAT would be an automatic admission for OOS.

okay thanks!
