It can be. They want to take other cars with so they might be waiting on others to finalize.
Which company? We need to transport a bunch of stuff in our car.
Thanks!
link is above …Montway
Thanks! I just called them.
We went with Montway. They picked up on requested date and were supposed to deliver today. Unfortunately the truck broke down but the driver did contact me to let me know there is a delay because they are waiting for a part which is understandable. He is stuck in a city over the weekend and sounds like he will be sleeping in his truck. He plans to deliver on Tuesday. Every time I have contacted Montway, I have been able to get through and get answers quickly. I am pleased so far.
Crap happens… This seems to be common amongst carriers. They are pretty much call takers. They told me that they do have set drivers that they like to use but their not always available… Not a job I would want. Glad someone else does this. Hope it works out with you. Their communication was really good when we used them
That’s great! I am about to book with them too!
Remember to take your EZPASS or FASTLANE out of the car before it it shipped. You do not want to have to pay for every toll booth that the car went through over 2,000 miles.
When a daughter did this she did put some “inexpensive but bulky” stuff in the car to ship along with the car. She needed to pick up the car within a specific few days, was not going to be there, and got a friend to pick up the car at the receiving end.
Vehicle arrived to daughter today. I was pleased with the service.
That’s awesome. Glad it worked out.
And we are using them tomorrow!! This was a timely thread!
I hope you will post your experience as well. It did give me some peace of mind that this company had a good reputation. We used credit card so we would have some leverage if something went wrong but nothing did. We had companies quoting a couple hundred dollars less, but we wanted to stay with this one.
If you got bad vibes, I’d move along and consider other options. You should have no shortage of choices - they’re are countless auto shippers out there and since prices vary slightly, some will be cheaper (or more expensive) than others. I would certainly get second thoughts if a company shifted the price on me in such a short timeframe. There’s a lot that goes into the cost of shipping (see here Costs Of Typical Long Distance Car Transport), but for the price to suddenly go up and like, and I assume, without much explanation, is a red flag.
