So in high school I took every single technical drawing class we had. I grew to love using the old school drawing boards, triangles, compasses, etc. along with the computer programs AutoCAD and Inventor.

Now, as an engineering freshman one of my intro to engineering courses is going over the use of Inventor. The book they had us buy happened to say that it prepared students for the certification program in the lower corner of the cover. I got excited. I had no idea there was a legit certification process. Has anybody had any experience being certified in Inventor? Is it hard to do? How beneficial would it be for a mechancial engineer to be certified?

I really would like to get certified in it since I like it so much. I figure since I'm not doing anything in particular over the summer I would prepare and take the test then.

I figure as a Mechanical engineer being certified should be pretty relevant and at worse a bonus... especially as a rising sophmore. Any idea to the extent to which it may help in getting interns/co-ops?
