Automated University of Michigan Application Status Checker

perfect. :)

and you’re welcome for the interval idea :P

Haha. Thank you.

I was about to patent it, though. :)

i like the “about this software”

Try setting the interval below 2 minutes.

I added the “about this software” part in case UMichigan stumbles upon this software. :)

@OMGMIT- Wow :open_mouth:
That is pure genius!

Yup, I’m a senior CS major. Are you applying for CS?

Yes. (10 chars)

wow…this is awesome. I’m sure Umich will accept you OMGMIT! Good luck :D

@kipling123
Thank you.

Due to a recently detected possible way to understand that the a decision for your account is about to be announced, I edited the application and added the new feature of checking the financial aid page for an update.

You can download it from below:
[Check UMich.rar](<a href=“File sharing and storage made simple”>http://www.mediafire.com/?rm8nf7etdn6z8sr)

A screenshot from the slightly modified GUI:

you’re are using C++, right? how did you learn how to create all this on your own?

Im a mechE major, but Im slowly starting to become interested in CS. Any tips on where to start? any specific books?

Actually I am using C#, but I also code in C/C++.

The key to learn programming languages on your own is to read and practice a lot. If you are into programming, then it doesn’t even seem like work.

Yeah programming can be fun. But holy **** it can be time consuming…

I sat in front of my computer 11 hours straight to knock out a 151 assignment (except for eating). Didn’t seem like it was that long be geez.

CS is definitely not for me.

Good luck to you though OMGMIT

Thank you MLDWoody.

Now the application is able to PUSH notifications to the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. I am using this feature only in my version. If you want, I can make it customizable and add it to the public version.

Android, question mark

I am not coding the mobile side of the application. I am using a readily available application called PUSHme.to receive the PUSH notifications on the mobile side.

As far as I know, that application is not available for the Android. If you know similiar applications, I can also implement those into the checker.

ihatemonday, if you’re really interested, I’d recommend first learning C from the classic book, [Amazon.com: C Programming Language (2nd Edition) (0076092003106): Brian W. Kernighan, Dennis M. Ritchie: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Programming-Language-2nd-Brian-Kernighan/dp/0131103628/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300908517&sr=8-1)

It’s a very concise, simple book. After that you could move on to C++, but it’s truly a huge language in comparison, so I think it’s easier to learn C first. There are, of course, many benefits of using C over C++, but that’s both personal preference and application-specific. I actually learned C++ first (EECS 280, my first programming class at UMich).

If you’re not that interested in this stuff, then Python is a very easy language to pick up (still very useful, too).

The new version can send notifications to iOS devices and Blackberry devices (of course any device with PUSH email capability will suffice)

http://i55.■■■■■■■.com/9vh6zc.jpg</a></p>

If WA is down, you will be notified via a PUSH notification after 8 consecutive trials failing to check your status.

Let me know if you are willing to use the new features and I will alter these features a little to make the new version public. Otherwise, nothing has changed since the last version. :)

definitely interested here :)

As am I. To be honest, I don’t expect a decision until around the 15th, but it never hurts to make sure, does it?

Just curious, what does it check exactly? Does it check if a decision link exists (and assuming it does, what the link is)? Is that how it knows?
