Automatic admission into TAMU?

Tamu is one of my top choices for universities, and I would stop all other applications in a heartbeat if I knew that I would get automatic admissions.

Currently I fall on the borderline of "review admit". My school is abit competitive, and a bout of mono in junior year (missed 21 days) dropped my class rank from top 15% to the top 28%. 2 points out of 100 is enough to drop me 13% in class rank. Needless to say, this has hurt my chances at universities that highly value class rank.

If after my first semester grades are in (around january 20th) can I send an updated transcript that indicates that I am in the top 25% and qualify for automatic academic admissions, or is that too late?

I am currently:

Top 28%, 7 AP classes 94.0 GPA/100
SAT score of 1920: 700 Reading, 620 Math, 600 Writing

Since my MATH+CR is over 1300, I qualify for automatic academic admissions but my class rank holds me back.

I worked my butt off during the first half of senior year and hopefully I will be able to move into the top quarter of my class. Will A&M accept this transcript and move me into automatic admission category? If they don't how do my chances hold with my current SAT and Rank/GPA?

Thank you from a hopeful Aggie in class of 2015!

Your stats are about even with my sons and he was accepted. He was the last kid in the top quarter at a Catholic prep (small) high school. He applied Nov 30.

When did you apply? I think your chances are very good.

I’d submit the transcript to your admissions counselor with a note about how badly you want to be accepted and then you will know you have done everything that you could to put your application in the best light. Your enthusiasm for TAMU will make a big difference as long as they know about it. They really want folks who really WANT to be there.

Best wishes!!

The waiting is hard!

You’re in… If I was in your situation I wouldn’t be worrying one bit.

I have the same situation as you! I called them and asked, and they said that if I was able to send in my new transcript by Jan 15th, they would take it. However, if you can’t, then they told me to file an appeal for automatic.
