<p>It's not an automatic cut-off - it varies by year and I believe that statistic is on McCombs's website. Basically, they fill up 75% of the freshman slots by starting at the top rank (i.e. top .001% or whatever) and work their way down until those 75% are filled. </p>
<p>UT automatically admitted me based on my rank to McCombs and my "top 3.6%" got me in without any other factors counted.</p>
<p>kcirsch is right. If you are in the top 5%, you have a really good chance. The cut off seems to be close to 6% for automatic just about every year, but your other stats, ec's etc could get you in.</p>
<p>I got in and I'm in the top 11%, but I had a 790 on the Math Section and a 760 on the Reading Section of the SAT; but top 3% does sound correct for "automatic" admission into McCombs</p>
