Does SLU have automatic scholarships or anyone know what we could reasonably expect based on other's experiences?

I was accepted to SLU with a 3.9 weighted GPA and a 31 on the ACT and they gave me the Dean’s Scholarship which is $16,000 per year for all 4 years which. It was merit based, but you had to have applied before Dec. 1st to be consodered for this specific scholarship. I don’t know of any other merit based scholarships, but you can always apply for need based aid (which is what I’m doing now) and obviously outside scholarships also (doing that too).

My daughter was offered the Vice Presidential Scholarship. Apparently the amount can vary, because the first letter said 16,000 per year for all four years and then about a week later, she received a letter stating that they had reviewed her qualifications and were increasing the scholarship to $18,000 per year.

She has 33 ACT and 3.95 unweighted, 4.25 weighted gpa, if that helps.

You should get automatic scholarships. I have a friend who got in with a 24 and some scholarship, and another friend who got scholarship and had a 26. Both had decent Gpas. I had a 30 and a 4.4, and got 18k a year.

My son was admitted to SLU with the following stats:
GPA- 3.77 UW
ACT-24
Lots of EC’s- cello/Carnegie Hall etc.
Do you think he will get any scholarship?

Reposting this message with updated stats because recent ACT score is 29 :

baseballmom94, I would guess that she would get either a Dean’s scholarship ($16,000 per year) or Vice Presidential ($18,000) per year. Her GPA is definitely high enough, but her ACT is on the borderline, I think. My daughter had a 31 and got the Vice Presidential and had a friend who had a 29 and got the Deans. Both had the same GPAs as your daughter’s. However, her friend took the ACT again and got a 31 and SLU increased her to the Vice Presidential. Has your daughter already applied? I think my daughter got her merit award notice either at the same time or shortly after she was accepted. Good luck to her!
