thanks!

Nevermind… I found it. In case anyone else is looking:

[Scholarship Forms](http://www.lsu.edu/financialaid/schlqualifications.htm)

Chancellor’s Alumni scholarship is not automatic, only 10 a year, but I think the rest are if you meet the qualifications.

I just made a 29 on this April ACT? Should I retake in June for a 30 to get the Centennial Award? Or would that be too late to be awarded the scholarship?

Ok, I called. The FinAid officer said that I am eligible for a 1 year award of $500 a semester called the Freshmen Merit Award.

LSU DOES accept the June ACT for scholarships, including the Centennial Award.

Really LSU would take your ACT score in June into consideration regarding Scholarships…I thought May 1 was when they had to hear from you…I definately will retake and try for a 30 in June if I can get the Cenn Scholarship

Yes. Remember, you must be a LA resident.

The Golden Oaks scholarship sounds too good to be true.

It says “Exemption from tuition and nonresident fees & Opportunity to participate in the Chancellor’s Student Aide program”.

If you are exempt from tuitition AND nonresident fees… what DO you pay? Obviously living expenses, but I feel like there must be more! The better scholarship above it (top 100) only gives $2k per year.

It’s real and you are exactly right. That’s why LSU is probably the best value for good students in the country (30 ACT and above), if you are not overly concerned about prestige and all that.

You pay a few fees, but it’s no more than about 1500 a year.

The Top 100 scholarship is IN ADDITION to the Golden Oaks. So if you are a non-resident who meets the stats, you will get the Golden Oaks and if you have an ACT 32 or above likely the Top 100 as well, which means in lieu of room and board, you are making a few hundred dollars.

Same with Chancellor’s Alumni scholarship. It’s in addition to Golden Oaks for non-residents.

Our D will be attening next year with a full Tiger Scholarship - (28 ACT, 3.3 GPA) which waives the out of state fees. Although she has a 30 ACT if one superscores her best results from three separate test dates, the Financial Aid office said they can only accept the best composite score from one sitting. She will take the test again in June in hopes of getting a 30 and qualifiying for the Golden Oaks Award.

As LSU2012 said, we believe that LSU is a great value for her education. She is from NJ and is extremely excited about being a Tiger.

Best of luck to your daughter! I think your family has made a great decision. I hope she can get that 30 and save you some more money.

My roommate is from New York and loves it here.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Woah, woah. Right the Golden Oaks only covers full tuition, not R&B also? I know 30 ACT for full tuition is really good, but a full ride basically would be amazing.

ya just tuition
