Automotive Engineering and Vanderbilt

At least a few companies have major factories in TN. Nissan USA is headquartered in in the state I believe.

Does anyone on here know if those companies regularly recruit at Vanderbilt or offer internships to Vandy grads?

I am interested in a career in motorsports engineering, if that sparks any ideas.

Thanks!

A good mechanical engineering degree works - I’ve seen automotive parts in the labs at Vanderbilt. I don’t know if those are for graduate work.

Look at Clemson - specific graduate program in automotive engineering.

Thanks! I wasn’t very clear in my post–I am already majoring in ME, and have already applied for transfer admission to Vanderbilt. I know their ME program is strong and has design teams such as Formula SAE. I am trying to find out more about specific opportunities available around the school and determine how it’s proximity may affect career networking.

It is encouraging that you’ve seen auto parts in the labs!

Yeah there’s actually an entire formula 1 racecar in one of the MechE labs.

I’m sure there is plenty of good networking around, given the ME department’s reputation.
