So I’ve been reading into the way UT does admission if you’re not in the top 7% and found the formula that calculates the estimated college gpa which they use for the academic index. I estimated my AI to be around 3.29 and my PAI to be around 4-5ish. I’m just wondering what are the average Academic Index and Personal achievemen score for a non auto admit student.
I haven’t ever seen this information published. It will vary by major because the formulas are different and the competitiveness of the majors differ. UT used to have average SAT/ACT by college but that isn’t there anymore (some colleges still have it on their individual pages.)
@silver_elite I tried to find AI/PAI information for accepted students into my major and never found anything. The AI is supposed to be a prediction of your first year GPA. The link below shows the average transfer GPA for the Cockrell Engineering school and the different engineering disciplines. I would assume most transfers happen after the first year so this may be indicative of the AI to get in as a freshman. I have also seen data for Cockrell that shows how many incoming freshman applied for a specific engineering and how many were accepted. There may be other colleges that post this type of information for transfer GPA and acceptance rate of incoming freshman.

Also just FYI, the AI/PAI applies to even the top 7% when determining their first and second choices of major.
