Average act average gpa

Hi PLEASE HELP. I have average stats, above average goals.

ACT: 25, (28 ENGLISH, 26 ENGLISH, 27 MATH 21 MATH, 24 SCIENCE 20 SCIENCE, 27 READING 28 READING) I gave you two scores each sub because I took it twice and got the same Composite

GPA: 3.3. I took all Enriched Advanced and College courses. I also have a 2.7 College GPA Because I have 42 College credits.

Additional: My family has a low-income, ($20/000 or less annually) Single Mother household, Mother is mentally disabled and abusive

I have work experience 4 jobs since I was 14, Including one Internship with a Fortune 500 IT company. (I am 17 now)

10+ Extra-Curricular, 5 are related to my computer sciences passion, Runner up for introducing President Barrack Obama

Would I be a candidate for Stanford, Columbia University, USC, Georgia Tech If I raised my ACT score In October and Novemeber???

Since you couldn’t even figure out the right subforum to post this thread in, I would say no. You will not get into any of those schools.

Also: Your GPA is way too low. Your ACT is too low baseline to bring up to the 34+ range. Anyone with a 21 baseline ACT math is not a candidate for the schools you have listed.

Even if you got into an elite computer science program at Columbia or Stanford by some incredible stroke of luck/affirmative action you would find yourself failing out quickly. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be - set realistic goals.

Nope, just EC’s alone will not get you to any of those schools. GPA and ACT are way too low.

Some of the replies here are really unnecessarily mean and somewhat unhelpful.
But, according to your information, I think your gpa is really low for the colleges. With the tests, it’s not horrible but for those top ivy league colleges, it’s not good enough. I would recommend you to retake it–if time permits. Most of all, in your essay you should really write about your family and financial background. Based on your information about your income and mother, I think you can somehow do it. I think your stats are not horrible because of your financial and family background. And whoever says “you are not getting in” don’t trust their words. You never know. But, you should always always have back up schools.

You have an extremely low chance of gaining admittance to any of those schools.

Even if you raised your ACT substantially, Columbia and Stanford are nearly out of reach. The others are not far behind.

Find some good match schools, some safeties, and, if these are dreams, maybe apply, pray, and write an amazing essay.
