Hi, I’m a junior and I am really interested in BC…I got a 31 on my ACT (from the Midwest, we don’t really like the SAT here). Is this good enough? This was my 2nd time taking it, first time I got a 30. I really don’t want to take it again or anything, I just want to see what the ACT score range (low and high) for BC is. Thank you.

PS I would be applying to the school of nursing.

Dear foxysoxy804 : College Board reports the middle 50% of the first year students between 28 and 32 - meaning that the 25th percentile is at a 28 and the 75th percentile is at a 32. This data is two years old at this point. Evidence from the last two years here on College Confidential shows that this window has edged upwards as we are seeing numerous rejections at the 29 and below levels and some waitlisting at the 30 score. This seems to imply that the range has shifted to a 29-33 (likely) or 30-34 spread at the extreme. Now, two years back, a 31 would have been a comfortable score - and it is certainly still in the valid range - but competition has slightly increased over the reporting period.

screw the scores. did you get in? or are you still a junior with ocd?

yes above a 30 will get your foot in the door. if you’re a minority it’ll keep them from closing the door. bc doesn’t have a writing supplement, so your common app essay better be pretty good.

there’s more to getting accepted than just your test scores you know. i got accepted at BC this year with probably less than stellar (2000’s) SAT scores. youre more than just a number…

Do you really think I don’t know that getting in takes more than test scores? I was basically asking for the ACT score range for those accepted to Boston College. The scores are still important.
