"Average Aid Package"

you know how the school will list its tuition, then room and board, then its average aid package?
i.e. Tuition: $31,000. Room/Board: $12,870. Average Aid Package: $24,900.

Completely random numbers.

But... How accurate is that aid package number?

It’s an average. If student A gets Which means $3000 in aid and student B gets $46,800, their average is $24,900. But student A still only got $3000.

So it may be accurate, but it is meaningless. What an individual will get will depend on their financial need (according to the school ), and sometimes how desirable they are to the school.
