average asian... NYU Stern?

Gender: Female
School: pub highschool.. nothing significant (international)
GPA: we don't use GPA system but I've getting all A's</p>

<p>SAT: 600 CR 780M 700W (2080)
(gonna take again in oct, and i will prob get around mid/high 2100s sigh)
SAT2: 770 Math IIC, 750 Chem</p>

<p>Classes: Cuz my school doesnt have that many AP programs, but i have taken/gonna take all of the available AP's
-Junior: English AP, Math AP, Chem AP, World History, Philosophy, International Law, Music, TA (teaching assistant)
-Senior: English AP(con't), Chem AP(con't), Economics AP, Adv Fuctions, Calc (no AP), Music</p>

<p>Extracurricular:
Editor in Chief of Yearbook Committee (member10-11, editor12)
President of History Council (member10, sec+treasurer11, prez12)
Executive of Music Council (member9-11, exec12)
World Action Council (member11-12)
Prefect (11-12)
Concert Band (9-12)
Honour Band (11-12)
Possibly the Founder of American Univ Club (12)</p>

<p>Community Service:
Over 300 hours
-volunteer at a cerebral disease community centre (during summers)
-volunteer at a special ed class (during school years)</p>

<p>Other things:
-Top 3~4% in grade awards (9-11)
-Math tutor (10-12)
-Chem tutor (11-12)
-a participant of three different conferences (not worldwide)
-a nominee(participant) for some big global conference held in summer 2008 in the US</p>

<p>I'm thinking of NYU Stern ED, Duke ED (a family member currently attending), or Cornell ED, and Chicago EA
I'm majorly interested in NYU Stern for now...</p>

<p>You should have no problem getting into NYU Stern if your essay is good and if your recommendations are positive.</p>

<p>As far as your other schools:</p>

<p>Duke ED--Reach
Cornell ED--Match to Slight Reach
Chicago EA--Slight Reach</p>

<p>P.S. You need more matches and also need a safe match/safety. I would suggest you apply also to CMU (another match) and Penn State (safe match)</p>

<p>I thought Stern was harder to get into, Calcruzer, especially considering the relatively competitive nature of the school? OP certainly has a chance, but is it really such an easy match for her?</p>

<p>I'm just asking--do NOT get paranoid over anything that I say. I'm only a senior myself, not worthy of telling others their chances.</p>

<p>That's what I thought too. I was quite surprised when I read his comment (yet a little bit happy lol). And some people have told me that Chicago EA (as long as I have good essays and get better SAT scores), it's a good/high match for me. </p>

<p>This is assuming your essay is good and you're asking for recommendations from teachers who don't hate you.</p>

<p>Ranking to get into certain schools (selectivity ranking) per the Princeton Review:</p>

<p>NYU: 95
Duke: 98 (but very close to 99 in my view)
Chicago: 98
Cornell: 97</p>

<p>NYU Stern is no more than a 96-97 (in my view, not Princeton Review) and relies less on rank than Cornell. The GPA, on average is still less, and the SAT scores are about equal to Cornell for acceptance.</p>

<p>NYU really likes people who do ED. It has a little more weight on it than most schools...at least in my perspective.</p>
