So, I participate in a competitive sport, and have done so for all three years of high school, and plan to do so again next year. I’m “decent” (as in somewhat good, but not too good) on a high school level, and consistently receive varsity letters. However, I am not good enough to get recruited, and am not good enough to become captain. However, I love playing this sport, and devote a significant amount of time to it. Will colleges care about my devotion to it if I’m not exceptionally good?
If you are not a recruited athlete, sports will count as a nice EC. But if you enjoy it, then you should continue with the sport.
