Penn State (University Park)
University of Delaware
University of Vermont (I had a VIP application)
Hofstra
American
University of Connecticut
University of Massachusetts Amhearst
University of New Hampshire
James Madison
George Mason
Syracuse University

Please let me know what you think despite me not having 2300 SAT scores and looking at Ivys............thanks....and I will reciprocate, promise

c'mon, anyone? please?

I am giving up on this forum....unless you are applying to Ivys with incredible stats, nobody out there will help out the common student......who probably needs the guidance most of all.

If it's a high rated public school, there should be a lot of AP's offered. I think you should have taken more advantage of the AP's. Although taking 8 Honor classes is very good :) Plus you're in Honor Roll. Your EC's are pretty solid. I'm not sure which university you'd like to get into the most but your SAT's could be a little higher for amherst.

All based from collegeboard, college counselor or my friends who were admitted.
Penn State (University Park) - Reach
University of Delaware - Reach
University of Vermont (I had a VIP application) - Low Reach
Hofstra - Match
American - Match
University of Connecticut - Low Reach
University of Massachusetts Amhearst - High Reach
University of New Hampshire - Match
James Madison - Match
George Mason - High Match
Syracuse University - Match

hope this helps!

tokyo: again, as I have pointed out earlier, please keep in mind that many, many top ranked public schools restrict students from just "walking" into AP classes....this is a misnomer on CC.....A bright kid may not have the opportunity or option to take AP classes within their hs....especially if honors is available....

Thanks for the input........does it help that I've applied EA to most of these?

Penn State (University Park)- possible
University of Delaware- in
University of Vermont (I had a VIP application)in
Hofstra-in
American-not so sure
University of Connecticut-not familiar w/ school
University of Massachusetts Amhearst- reach
University of New Hampshire-unsure
James Madison-unsure
George Mason-unsure
Syracuse University-low reach

SAT score is average, but you have a decent amount of clubs...should give you a boost
GL

uh, UMass Amherst is not a "high reach," especially if you're in state. I'd probably put it as a match.

jarsilver, I'm comparing her SAT score and her GPA amogst collegeboard statistics and my friends who got into Amherst. I go to a rigorous academic private school where every year students are accepted into Harvard, Georgetown, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, UPenn, Berkeley etc. Amherst is considered to be one of the top schools. Not on the same level of course but I believe it's pretty high up there.

Penn State (University Park)-slight reach
University of Delaware-slight reach
University of Vermont (I had a VIP application)-match/in
Hofstra-don't know anything sorry
American-match
University of Connecticut-don't know enough sorry
University of Massachusetts Amhearst-match
University of New Hampshire-don't know enough sorry
James Madison-don't know enough
George Mason-high match
Syracuse University-match

I feel like the reason most people have listed U Mass Amherst as a high reach for you is simply because they are thinking of the LAC Amherst, not U Mass campus IN the town of Amherst.
I think if you did well on the ACTs or bring up those SATs you'll have a much better shot :) good luck!

You should get into George Mason, which does not require SAT/ACT if you are in the top 20 percent of your graduating class. JMU is a good possibility, too. Any chance the schools might be interested in your tennis ability? That might help your application.

Thanks for the inputs..........no, I am not instate for Umass at Amhearst (not the same as Amhearst College)......so you do think applying EA was a good idea then?

haha. Emp, Amherst College is not UMass.

I live in MA so I know that you'd be in for instate, but I don't know how hard it is to get in OOS or how EA affects that.

UNH and Hofstra are both low matches, I think. American is a high match.

You will get into UMass Amherst no problem... We call it Zoo Mass for a reason

"echalon"?? I suppose you meant "echelon"?

Lol I know its not the same, thats why I pointed it out, because other people thought it was the same-I was trying to clear it up :)
And yes, applying EA always helps, or at least, it won't hurt

yes, that's what I meant.....see I told you I was average
