I don't know if this means anything. I was googling university of maryland's average gpa and found this instead.

http://www.eckerd.edu/academics/nas/premed/MCAT_GPA_List.htm#OSTEOPATHIC

It looks interesting enough, and might even be helpful for those who want to apply to a "safety" medical school, if theres a such thing as one.

Btw, do medical schools really care about your overall gpa or do they care more about your science gpa? I'm pretty good at science but I suck at everything else like english, art, and the other core courses.

I wonder where they got all that info. It's nice to have a rough estimate of what the entering gpa's and MCAT scores are for all the medical schools and Osteopathic schools.

simple answer is that both matter. Typically science is lower, and that's expected.

The only thing I can say about not being good in other core courses is that medical school (and medicine) is never a purely scientific endeavor (a few specialties like path and certain parts of radiology being exceptions). Humanities and social sciences are important components and make you a better a doctor by helping you understand people and their station in life.

This information is at least three years old and was almost certainly obtained through US News, since that's the only other place where I've seen the bizarre convention of dividing your MCAT score by 3.
