average next year

wat do u guys think will be the average GPA, SAT, and ACT score will be for the fresmaen coming in for the falll of 07-08

3.5 and 1700 for SAT's

yeah how would it go up like that for rip you go in by having a 3.2

3.5's the average.. which means NOT everyone has a 3.5.. it is simply what it is.. an average.
meaning there are probably a few 3.7, 3.8's around
which then means there are 3.2's and 3.3's around to balance it down to 3.5

and the SAT's are prob around 1200.. they dont look at writing.. i duno if thats gonna change or not

i had a 3.4 ish but the csu gpa said i had a 3.1, my SAT math was strong (650) so don't think i was admitted by some mistake...and because applicants are applying to more and more colleges each year, the acceptance rate is going to naturally decline.

riptide... if more people apply to more schools, then colleges would have to admit more people not less people because the students they admit are less likely to actually enroll ni their school because they have more options.

The acceptance rate however might decline....it typically does...why do you think acceptance rates have been declining the last 20 years?

example (just made up figures)

40,000 apps

accept 3,000 (13 perc. acceptance rate)

60,000 apps

accept 3500 (6 percent acceptance rate)

Sidenote: you might be right about SOME schools, however, most schools are not having the increase in applicant loads like SDSU has been having...they've gone from about 15,000 to roughly 55,000 in 6 years...that is a ridiculous increase in my opinion....the acceptance rate keeps going lower and lower.

sdsu: "First-time freshman admits have an average high school grade point average of 3.54 and an average SAT score of 1102. "

what about an out of state student, sdsu calculated gpa of 3.29 and act score of 29.?

eligibility index 948...

i had 3.0 with an 1100

If you're from out of state, you'll need at least a 3.5 and around a 1300 to get in. They give preference heavily to those in the San Diego County area.

well i was out of state n they calculated my gpa/sat to be around 3.3 and 1200

i am from out of state and got in for fall with a 3.3 and 1150 sat..........

my act score translates to a 1300 sat score

gene, are you out of state?
