Average Point Increase...

I got a 24 on my ACT (everything 24) and was wondering...

After studying for a month, how many points do people usually go up in their composite score?? I took the April test with no practice and got 24 but now im looking to get in the 26-29 range with one month of practice...is this possible?

Usually I have seen increases of about 2-5 points over three months of prep.

Oh wait, 1 month? As long as you are prepping seriously, like 6-8 hours per week, then I would say the same advice applies.

I saw a 6 point increase after a year of not preparing...24 -> 30.

This may, however, not be true for most.

a year of not prepping? You mean you retook the test a year later?

6-8 hours of week is easy...thats an hour a day..i was thinking about hour 30 mins - 2 hours a day everday...to me, i dont need to study, just review and practice..i hope i can go up at least 5 points...

i'll be using the ACT for Dummies and the Real ACT's book to study....

The first time I took the test in February I got a 26 (29 English, 25 Math, 23 Reading, 25 Science). Afterwards I had to switch back to studying for the March SATs, so I only studied for about a month for the April ACT and got a 28 (32 English, 28 Math, 27 Reading, 26 Science).

A lot of times it just depends on the test (and the curve!). I increased my score by 3 points by doing nothing. Maybe I was just more relaxed and timed myself better? I don't know.

20 first time '05 (21 english, 25 math, 14 reading, 18 science)
35 last time '07(34 english, 35 math, 34 reading, 35 science)
