Congrats on your UCF acceptances! I don’t know a kid who doesn’t like it and I’m pushing UCF over UF for S2 (S1 is a Gator and not happy w/me)

WRITE…can I ask what your stats are? S2 hasn’t heard and UCF is the only rolling admissions school he applied. He’s nut to get his senior year started and driving me nuts in the process. It’s been about 3-4 weeks.

Orange-Of course! I like to share my stats with others, because it’s a big jump of hope for those individuals who are boarderline, or don’t have the highest stats:) Here’s a follow up up everything:
GPA: 3.2-3.3 (A bit unsure, to be honest. I elaborated, in my essay, on why my GPA wasn’t as high as I would have liked-family problems).
ACT:22; I will also give the break down of subscores. Please no judgement on some, I’m not very strong in two catagories.
Math-17
Science-20
English-28
Reading-30
Essay portion-9
Awards: Author of the month at my school, as well as a few other writings awards. I’ve been playing violin for ten years, competitvly, and most of my awards are from violin. (Competed in competition, ranked division I-Superior and Division II-Excellent.)
The ‘talent’ section: As I said above, writing awards. I’ve wrote two novels on my own time. Also published a piece of writing in ‘teenink’ magazine my…sophmore year, I believe. Was accepted into the Art academy at a local high school, for drawing, called ‘Larkin’, of which I turned the spot down to someone more deserving then I. I play violin, cello, base, viola, piano, and sing. There were a few other things I can’t remember, lol!
Extra’s: I’ve had a job sense freshmen year, as to which I’ve been working over 30 hours a week for all those years (Need to pay my bills!). I helped out at my church for a while, but seperated a long time ago. Taught students to play violin (private lessons) as well as coached a cheerleading team of 32 girl for three years. They have ranked 2nd in state that past…two years, I believe.
Community service: Almost all the hours came from coaching the cheerleading team-a little from the church. My application said 630, though now I have 700 hours of CC.

I think that’s it? To be honest, I didn’t think I would get in. It’s been such a dream for me (If you’ve followed my posts, you would see clearly) and it’s amazing that I got straight out ACCEPTED, rather then rejected or defered. I wish your son the best of luck, those stats should give him hope that he can get in!:)

Ah, thank you SO much. I wanted it so, so bad. I know UCF didn’t accept me based on my scores and GPA. They had to see other strengths, which I am so thankful for:) Now I’m just trying to get my twin brother into the school! He looks better academically then I. 23 ACT, 3.8 GPA, so I hope he gets in for summer!

I sent out my application to UCF on 9/25/11. They didn’t receive my transcripts until 10/18/11. However, only six days later I was accepted for Fall 2012, 10/24/11. It was the greatest feeling I have ever had. It is my first choice.

I will list some of my stats …

-OOS female
-GPA 4.0 uw
-SAT (they didn’t receive my updated, highest scores when I was accepted so I’ll list what I was accepted with) 1100/1640
-ACT 25
-alot of ECs , captain of my varisty cheer squad , NHS , community service , FBLA , exec council just for a few

Senior-I’m out of state:) Located in illinois (Yuck, it’s getting so awful and cold, and even SNOWED yesterday.) I’m considered in state, because of my florida pre-paid program (as well as my brother) because we were originally born in Sarasota. I’m coming down for the summer term, and then moving on into the fall term. Right now, I’m trying to get my twin brother into UCF, too. I’m very indepdent, but being as far as I will be, it would be nice to know at least one person down there. Plus, we get along very well. I think it had to do more with him being a guy, and me being a girl:)

Wow that’s sooo exciting! Congrats!! I’m trying to get my best friend in. She was deferred on Monday ): What is your intended major? And good luck to your brother! Did he hear anything yet? Or just waiting… That’s the worst part! I checked myUCF at least 20 times a day… I finally stopped for a few days and then I received my notification!

Senior-I’m looking at majoring in business/advertising, and minoring in writing. I’d love to focus on writing, but it’s just not realistic enough. Ah, He’s still waiting to hear:( I don’t know what’s going to happen with him, it’s so unpredictable. Ah, I know! I had sent them a heart felt email, and checked on a Saturday, and saw it:) I couldn’t breathe, lol.

Ahhh man! I know the feeling! I checked mine in school, in the middle of class. I literally starting bawling my eyes out. People thought someone died, or I got bad news, anything. It was the best feeling in my life.

I know! I was sitting there at work, and my manager, who’s like a mother to me, insisted I check. So I did, and saw the words congratulations, and stopped breathing. She had to read me the acceptance twice, until I believe here. Then I just key saying, ‘oh my god’. I was too shocked to cry tears of joy! Lol

Exactly! I remember going to cheerleading, and coaching my girls, and they would constantly ask me ‘where else did you apply,’ and literally, I didn’t apply anywhere else. Nothing felt right, and I wasn’t about to settle for an expensive, and less then impressive school here in Illinois-so I only applied to UCF. I just can’t believe I’m getting out of here! Don’t get me wrong, chicago is beautiful. But I just cannot attend college with the people I went to high school with. The one’s that tan in the middle of winter, wear too much ed hardy, and believe that high school will never end. I just don’t relate well enough with such a fake personality. I can’t wait to meet new people:)
