Average SATs! College?

The average SAT composite nationwide is 1020/1600 or 1520/2400. Although CCers who have scored "only" 1200 on CR and Math have been known to panic at the thought that their only option was community college or McDonald's, there are hundreds of four-year schools that are happy to accept students with less lofty scores who are serious about their education.

The following list is of colleges where the 25th percentile of accepted students for the SAT is 1020/1600 (21 for the ACT). The other common denominator among the colleges listed is that they graduate at least 50% of incoming freshman in 4 years. The 50% + graduation rate is an indicator that these schools are careful about making sure the college and the accepted student are good "fits" and that the college is commited to the success of each student it admits.
bump, I agree this is really useful

There is some extremely useful information in this post! CCers who are afraid to post because of intimidation, fear not!

There are GREAT schools on this list! Sweet Briar and Ripon, just to name two! Not only that, but kids who are looking for a good academic safety for a musical theatre major have found solace in Baldwin-Wallace and Valparaiso.
