Hey there all you none 2400's/4.0s (or similar)!

As I've already received a couple acceptance letters (with my 3.2 and 1830)....
I'm really curious to know where the rest of the regular fall of 2013 freshman applicants have been accepted so far!

It would definitely help some of the more average students understand where they have a shot at. So, that being said... No shame here!

OMGEZZY NORMAL STUDENT ON CC COME TO MEEEEEE

Well, I’m not class of 2013 so that’s awkward. But still, it’s not like slightly above students are hopeless- there are plenty of good schools for B students y’know.

completely agree milkyway! as an avid CC user, it can be so discouraging to only see posts from the creme de la creme applicants. Us average kids matter too!

If this helps, this is my status so far…

Lasell College - Presidential Scholarship/Honors Program/Scholarship for another 30k for EC’s and such
University of New Haven - Scholarship/Honors Program/Invite to Business Fast Track Program
Loyola New Orleans - Financial aid will be awarded sometime in Feb
George Mason - (same as Loyola)

… all of these BEFORE I retook my SAT. Meaning I was at a 1720 when I applied/got accepted to these schools

Finally! Another average student (3.32 and 1660)
Applying to
USF
UCF
Rutgers
Marquette
Michigan State
URI
U Tampa
Coastal Carolina
Have not received any decisions yet, but they should be here shortly Crosses fingers

Yay!!! There is a such thing as a normal CC poster!!! I’ve been accepted to:
Temple University-Philadelphia,PA
George Mason University-Fairfax,VA (like you jerseyjourney!!!)
Thats it so far I should be receiving an acceptance to Howard this or next week…might still apply to other schools…oh and superscored my best SAT was 1800 (after taking it 3 times :}) and a 3.73W gpa

I think I’m average, even though I have a highish sat. ~3.7-3.9w with a 2110 sat . My gpa has me soo worried. Anyways, applied to UC’s (UCLA, UCB, UCI, & UCSD) and CSU’s (SLO, SF, LB, SD) last month.

I’m working on my other apps now. I’m just ready to be done.

I guess I’m kind of a weird normal. 4.4 GPA (besides 4 honors classes and 1 AP, my whole schedule has been regular level), but only a 28 ACT (1810 SAT but I didn’t send those).

Accepted so far:
Lock Haven University, PA
Saint Peter’s University, NJ
Rowan University, NJ (Rowan Scholars Program Scholarship included)

Still waiting to hear back from my reaches and more. (I hear back from FIVE schools all next week…). I’m preparing myself for many rejections LOL

I’m below average but whatever. 3.4 GPA and 24 ACT. accepted to: WVU still waiting to hear from: Syracuse (first choice applied ED), penn state (huge reach but they gave me a free application so might as well), pace, st johns. I’m waiting to apply to SUNY Albany, Louisville, and UNLV til I hear from Syracuse. Good luck to everyone!!

mama duck, you give me hope! Waiting to hear from RIT. DS13 has a 3.5 GPA with a 1640 SAT also. Waiting to hear some news for acceptance into Mech Engineering. His portal just says now is the time to apply–Grrr!,

NhMom, Daughter did not try for engineering - she is arts. RIT publishes the test ranges for each major, and as you know admits by major. Arts does have a lower test range than Engineering. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! I’m not sure they’ll come up with enough money for us (long story).

No, I’m sorry if it wasn’t clear, I said 3.7-9w, weighted. My school only does weighted gpa, but I self calculated my unweighted gpa to be around a 3.2-3.4. I would never mock, my gpa is low to average.

Just for clarification, the national average SAT score is a 1508 (CR: 498, M: 514, W:488). The average ACT is a 21.1 But these scores are somewhat inflated because people who aren’t going to college or know they are going to the CC typically do not take standardized tests. A few states require it for graduation, and averaging the scores of the states with 100% ACT participation, shows that the national ACT average is about a 20.

In 2009, the average female GPA (UW) was a 3.1 while the average male earned a 2.9

So there you have it, if you’re around those stats, you’re about average.
