Average/Slightly Above Students - Recent Acceptance Thread

<p>My son was accepted to Umass Amherst early action. No merit $ though. See my post on pg 4 of this thread for his stats. Already accepted to SUNY Oneonta & waiting on 5 more.</p>

<p>God I’m so nervous…! I don’t want to turn this into a chance me thread but I certainly would appreciate it if someone could give me an idea of what to expect for colleges.</p>

<p>GPA: 94
SAT (first time taken): 1930 (600 CR, 710 M, 620 W)
ECs: Varsity soccer freshman year (got injured and decided not to play again), 100 hrs at local daycare center, Robotics team (joined this year, gonna stay senior year as well), Freestyle Football shows for local soccer clubs. </p>

Marietta College
UMass Amherst
UMass Lowell
Arizona State
Colorado School of Mines
Texas A&M
Umass Dartmouth</p>

<p>I need a lot of merit aid at these colleges as well…just don’t know what to expect. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it!</p>

<p>I think i consider my self to be an average student.I’am an international student from tunisia i just got my sat scores 1620 an SAT II (800 french , 620 Math level II) and have a GPA of 3.8 . Do i have a chance to get into colleges like
American university Georgetown, George washington university Pace ?

<p>FYI - Anyone who has applied to UMass Lowell- DS just got an acceptance email from them, so you might want to check yours. He was surprised to see it so soon after their December 1 EA deadline.</p>

<p>I posted here before but I got another acceptance today. Lesley University with 17.5K merit scholarship. 2 for 2.</p>

<p>my son is basically an avg to slightly above avg student… 1560 SAT and 3.7 with 1 honors class</p>

<p>accepted to College of Charleston, Roanoke,Quinninpiac, U of Tampa, Salve Regina with CofC being his first choice…the other 4 all gave merit money, with CocC we still waiting on the envelope</p>

<p>For all of you: here is a trick to get into the college you want to get into - work there! If you can prove that you can handle a few free classes, you might be able to get in on that merit. A janitor at Columbia did this, and finally graduated:

<p>The only problem is that some colleges like the one I work at are forcing people to get accepted into a program before taking a class. That sux for people who don’t have a strong educational background and negates tuition benefits for them.</p>
