Average starting salary

I need to know the average salary for electrical and chemical engineering for these schools. I already know the numbers for Purdue.

Purdue Chemical engineering - $51,832 Electrical Engineering - $54,442
https://www.cco.purdue.edu/employer/Salary.shtml

UIUC
Carnegie Mellon
Georgia Tech
University of Texas, Austin

UIUC Electrical Engineering - $54,700 (range of $30,000 to $75,000)

I'm not too fond of "average" after taking statistics. If there are extremes... but usually it would be around $50,000+

average starting salary for Cornell Engineering is $55,000

How about a BME from JHU?

hey, im attending cornell next year as class of 2009 in engineering physics... i just read your post saying the starting average salary for engineer from cornell is 55k. I like this, and was wondering where you found such information?

from cornell. i visited and took a tour of the engineering sector. the alumnus that was there told me.

55K for starting salary...that's a little high for cornell engineering. I believe it's 49.4K for class of 2003 (according to this report http://www.career.cornell.edu/downloads/PostGradSurveys/Postgrad%2003.pdf)
I think ECE and CS majors get 55K average salary.

I think after 3 years of experience average salary rising to 6 figs.

VT Boy -- As the wife of an Electrical Engineer with 25+ years experience, I wouldn't count on six figures after three years. I wouldn't even count on six figures after 25 years. With some job changes, your salary will go up a little faster. But in general, you can count on, at the most, a 5% pay raise each year.

Peg

I agree with Peg. You guys have to realize if you want to make 6 figure salary quickly, DON'T BE AN ENGINEER. If you just want to make lots of money, go to med school, law school or business school.

its really a ****ty way to make money.

what about like the headquaters of an engineering industry?

Ya, we work hard to become engineers but the reality is most of us do not make much money :(

Engineer = $0.00 :(
Engineer + MBA = $$$ :D

thomas is correct :P
an engineer makes about 60-70k a year after a while
but with an MBA from an elite school, easily in the 200k range

Just wondering
How much $ is one making with a M.S. in engineering?

LMAO! @ thomas.

My friends who recently graduated from Stanford with their MS in EE got offers around 75k to 85k, and the highest ones were 95k and 105k.
