Let me know if there are other schools in the NE region that you think would be a good fit. Thanks!

i think rutgers(good school!), umd, Lafayette, and BU are good choices. The rest are a little too elite for those stats

And if anyone knows anything about the merit aid at the schools on the top of the list and if I would qualify any info would be great!

alot of johns hopkins money is geared toward research and Financial aid(which is really good). i’m pretty sure their merit aid lacks, but i am not 100% sure

Would you consider a LAC?

@AnnieBeats‌ I don’t really know much about them to be honest. Aren’t there engineering programs typically not the best?

Some have decent ones, but none are overly prestigious

Which ones would those be?

I would ignore @redrising8‌. Prestige doesn’t matter when it comes to engineering. It’s the field experience that matters. LAC don’t have graduate schools, so all of the funding goes to undergraduates as opposed to a regular 4 year university where the grad students get priority funding and undergrads compete for the rest.

John Hopkins might be a bit of a reach too. By the way, why are you calling yourself an average student when you know you’re obviously not? Your ACT score is like the 95th percentile lol.

@MitchIsTheMan97‌ I know I’m above average vs most studetns but I’m using other CCers as a comparison.

Do NOT compare yourself to others on CC. Like, 50% of Chance Me’s are ■■■■■ posts, 45% have projected statistics, and 5% are actually genuine students. You can’t compare yourself to those who are in other schools either. Colleges will not compare you to them.

So what do you think are my chances at the schools I listed, and which other schools not listed would I be a good fit at, based on my stats?

I think Johns Hopkins is a more realistic reach than UPenn and Duke
Have you considered NYU?

Wow we have pretty similar scores, your ACT is a little better though. I think you should look into Bucknell University, they have a great engineering program and you could likely get in with your stats.

@AmbiD77 I have not considered that yet but I will look into it. Thanks!

@plzletmeincolege‌ no problem! their polytechnic institute is quite good c:

bump

Good chance at BU

(Source student who goes who had similar test scores and slightly lower GPA)

Anyone know if I would have a good chance at any scholarships at UMD?
