I WAS WONDERIN ....COULD AN AVERAGE STUDENT WITH WILL AND DETERMINATION SUCCEED IN THE MEDICAL FIELD IE. Acheiving a MD or PhD perhaps....>?

If you actually mean an AVERAGE student -- with a C average and 900 SAT's (out of 1600) -- then no, probably not.

If you mean average by collegeconfidential standards, then yes, he could certainly make it through hard work.

if u have determination and will power to succeed.... become more than average!

Depends on your current environment and your race too.

If you happen to be a student in farmland of Kansas, from a lower socioeconomic strata, haver always had an environment around you that is counterproductive toward achieving academic success - I would say you certainly have a chance.

In addition to the above, if you are African American or Hispanic or Native American - You have an even stronger chance.

Your current grades and Stats are truly a product of various determining factors in your environment. If you are overcoming odds in your life, 'going against the grain' so to speak wrt your family life, you indeed stand a great chance.

Given the most suitable synergistic, nurturing environment, encouraging, assisting mentors, added to your own perseverence and determination - you can indeed achieve heights of success.

It really depends what kind of external factors exist in your life that are making you "average" at this time.

If you are from a middle class or upper middle class family, with no major counterproductive environmental factors - the answer would be a NO.

Interesting point Pharmagal, I completely agree

i'm from Kansas....funny you mentioned it.
well, urban genius if you want more answer tell us what type of "average" you are referring to?

Well Themtran I Have A B+ Gpa And I Have Average Act Scores But I Know I'm Better Than Average Even Though My Grades And Test Scores Don't Show It

Einstein failed his graduation test from high school the 1st time...

Intresting Point =)

Calvin and Hobbes has Calvin bragging: "You know how Einstein got bad grades as a child? Well, mine are even WORSE!"
